Application Process (CSC Type A)

Register you application account and complete your candidate profile in order to access the application materials and details.

Follow the application materials checklist further down on this page to prepare the various components of your application.

Once you have prepared all your application documents, upload them in your application profile. By the way: You may complete your profile information and upload your materials in several steps as you go along. You can always save your profile and come back to complete it further at a later time.

Once your application profile is complete, submit it to the admissions committee for review

. Please note, that only complete applications will be processed, so make sure to double-check that all required documents are uploaded in your profile.

Once we have received your application, we will screen it for completeness and competitiveness. We do these screenings in regular intervals, so please allow several days for this process. We will confirm your application has been received and we will alert you in case of any missing materials.

Please note: Account for our processing time when submitting your application – should you submit an incomplete application very close to deadline, you may risk not being able to supply the missing components on time, thus rendering your application unsuccessful.

As a result of your initial screening you will also be informed about whether you are required to participate in an admissions interview or not. While we usually interview the majority of our candidates, exceptionally strong applicants may be admitted to the program directly without an admissions interview.

Admissions interviews are conducted by members of the admissions committee and aim at evaluating your motivation, your attitude, and your background. Interviews can be conducted in person for candidates already in Beijing, or via online video chat.

Based on your application materials and your interview, the committee will make a decision about your pre-admission, about which you will be informed immediately.

We do our very best to process your application materials as well as interview results quickly, and we communicate our decisions with you immediately when they are made. Please understand that during the time of processing your application, we are not able to respond to individual questions about your admissions status and the odds of being admitted.

If you are pre-admitted to the program, you will be provided with a pre-acceptance letter.

The pre-acceptance letter can only be used for scholarship application and does not represent a final admission to Renmin University.

You can use the pre-acceptance letter to apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship in your home country.

Please be aware that if you do not successfully receive the scholarship from the agency in your home country, you will not be allowed to be enrolled in the program, unless you complete the application on the International Students Office website and you pay the application fee.
